Kristallnacht

1.  Notebook Challenge:  What kind of power does the media have?  Share 3-5.  -10 minutes

2.  Intro: Kristallnacht: Night of Broken Glass.  The shooting of a Nazi by a German boy was told on every radio and TV show and newspaper as if it was the beginning of a Jewish plot to take over Germany.  The result was a night of relentless violence against Jews.  -1 minute

4.  The class will split up the Nine Kristallnacht Stories and create presentations to give tomorrow, where they will take notes on each others' stories.  Their presentation will be graded on 100% participation, content & preparation, and accuracy.  They need to read, identify & define any vocabulary they need to in order to understand, and then

      a. Create GISTS: the main Who, What, When, When, Why, and How of their primary source.

      b. Create a list of at least 5 important details (bullet points in their own words).  More than 5 to earn a grade of "4".

      c. A visual or dramatic component (Diagram, Illustration, Tableaux, or Skit) to show each important detail (minimum 5).
